Mr. Mike Feagans
April 25, 2014: Mr. Feagans visited our class and spoke to us about his mission trip to Haiti. It was a great tie in to our experiences with other 3rd world countries we are talking about in Africa. Students were able to share in a presentation that talked about the economics of Haiti and other 3rd world countries. Additionally, Mr. Feagans talked about the traditions and ways of life of Haitians including their religion, customs and day to day living. We were excited to have him be a part of our class.
Mrs. Hannah Cates
May 13, 2014: On this date, Mrs. Cates visited our classroom and shared her living experiences and travels during her 12 years while living in Kenya and the surrounding countries of Eastern Africa. She shared experiences of her life while living and going to school there as well as the cultures of the different tribes she came across. Her family initially traveled there from Tennessee as missionaries and continue to live and work there today. We are very fortunate to have had her come to our class and enrich our study of Eastern Africa.
Dr. Edward Habrowski
May 14, 2014: Dr. Ed visited our classroom and spoke about his travels and time spent living in Malawi. He was able to bring in many items native to the area and the students were able to get a real feel of what life is like there. His enthusiasm and professionalism are invaluable and the way he relates and reaches young people is tremendous. My students continued talking about his presentation for days following.
